Abstract

This study aimed to examine and analyze the role of the Internet of Things (IoT) in transforming and smartening organizational learning processes, focusing on technological, behavioral, and managerial dimensions. This research adopted a systematic review with a qualitative approach. Data were collected from 12 peer-reviewed articles retrieved from Scopus, Web of Science, IEEE Xplore, and Google Scholar databases. The inclusion criteria involved topic relevance, full-text accessibility, and publication between 2015 and 2025. Data were analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s (2006) thematic analysis method through NVivo version 14 software. Data collection continued until theoretical saturation was achieved. Findings revealed that IoT influences organizational learning through three main dimensions: (1) technological infrastructure, including data security, cloud-edge processing, and AI-based information management; (2) transformation of learning processes, such as data-driven, personalized, and context-aware learning; and (3) organizational outcomes, including enhanced employee performance, improved decision-making, and the development of smart learning culture. However, challenges such as high implementation costs, lack of technical expertise, and data security concerns hinder the full adoption of IoT in learning systems. The study concludes that IoT provides an effective foundation for institutionalizing smart learning within organizations. However, realizing its full potential requires developing robust technological infrastructure, enhancing employees’ digital literacy, establishing supportive policies, and fostering a data-driven learning culture. Organizations capable of creating intelligent synergy between humans, technology, and data can achieve sustainable competitive advantages in learning and innovation.
